The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the breath of morning 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
