The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 and a few from later times. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And fruit of what they select 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 and clustered bananas, 29 And shade extended 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 and upraised couches. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
