And mention in the Book Abraham; surely he was a true man, a Prophet. 41 Behold, he said to his father: "O my father! why worship that which heareth not and seeth not, and can profit thee nothing? 42 "O my father! Behold, there has indeed come to me [a ray] of knowledge such as has never yet come unto thee: follow me, then; I shall guide thee onto a perfect way. 43 Father, do not worship satan; for satan has rebelled against the Merciful. 44 O my father, I fear lest a punishment from Ar-Rahman should befall you, and you should become a friend of the Devil." 45 He said, “What! You turn away from my Gods, O Ibrahim? If you do not desist, I will certainly stone you, and keep no relation with me for a long while.” 46 He said, 'Peace be upon thee! I will ask my Lord to forgive thee; surely He is ever gracious to me. 47 "And I shall remain separated from you and all that you worship other than Allah and shall worship my Lord; possibly, by worshipping my Lord, I will not be amongst the unfortunate.” 48 So when he had turned away from them and from those whom they worshipped besides Allah, We gave him Ishaque (Isaac) and Ya'qub (Jacob), and each one of them We made a Prophet. 49 and We bestowed on them Our mercy, and granted them a truly lofty renown. 50
