The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
