The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
