And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 and then they will say: 'Shall we be respited' 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 and then the chastisement of which they were being warned were to come upon them, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 it is not for them, nor are they able. 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 They listen, but most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
