The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
