Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

DESTROYED WILL BE the hands of Abu Lahab, and he himself will perish. 1 His wealth did not benefit him in the least, nor did whatever he earned. 2 He will be roasted in the fire, 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
