S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Saad, by the Holy Reading (Koran) of the Remembrance. 1 Nay! those who disbelieve are in self-exaltation and opposition. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them who cried (for mercy) when it was too late for escape. 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 Has he turned so many gods into one deity? This is indeed a strange thing!" 5 Their leaders departed, saying, "Walk away! Hold fast to your deities. This is clearly a conspiracy. 6 We have not heard of this in the last religion; this is surely an invention. 7 Hath unto him the admonition been sent down from amongst us! Yea! they are in doubt concerning My admonition. Yea! they have not yet tasted My torment. 8 Do they have the stores of the mercy of your Lord, the mighty and munificent? 9 Or is it that the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? If so, let them ascend up with means (to the heavens)! 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 The people of Noah denied before them, and [the tribe of] 'Aad and Pharaoh, the owner of stakes, 12 And the Thamud, the people of Lot, as well as the dwellers of the Wood, had denied. These were the hordes. 13 Each of them who rejected the Messenger become subject to Our punishment. 14
