Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
