He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 or he might be mindful and good counsel might avail him. 4 As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 you pay him no heed. 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 And garden-closes of thick foliage 30 And fruits and herbage 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 And his wife and his children, 36 For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy 37 Some faces on that day will be radiant, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Blackness overcoming them. 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
