The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
