The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
