Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In a Garden on high, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
