The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
