Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To clear or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for an appointed term? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
