The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
