The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 and believes in the finest, 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
