Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 storming tempestuously 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 As justification or warning, 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 The living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
