The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
