Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Blest be He in whose hand is the dominion, and He is over everything Potent. 1 He created death and life so that He might test you, and find out which of you is best in conduct. He is the Mighty, the Most Forgiving One. 2 who created seven heavens one upon another. Thou seest not in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection. Return thy gaze; seest thou any fissure? 3 Then look again and yet again, your sight will return to you in a state of humiliation and worn out. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them a means to drive away the satans. We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord is the punishment of hell, and evil is the resort. 6 When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves, 7 It almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast therein, its keeper will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They shall say: Yea! indeed there came to us a warner, but we rejected (him) and said: Allah has not revealed anything, you are only in a great error. 9 And they say: Had we been wont to listen or have sense, we had not been among the dwellers in the flames. 10 and thus they will confess their sin; far from God's mercy are the inmates of Hell. 11 Surely forgiveness and a mighty reward await those who fear Allah without seeing Him. 12 Be secret in your speech, or proclaim it, He knows the thoughts within the breasts. 13 How could it be that He who has created [all] should not know [all]? Yea, He alone is unfathomable [in His wisdom,] aware! 14
