He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 and in awe [of God] 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 and so, whoever is willing may remember Him 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Perish man! how ungrateful he is! 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 How We pour water in showers 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 to yield therein corn, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 his consort, his sons, 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 with darkness overspread: 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
