The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the mount. 1 And [by] a Book inscribed 2 In parchment spread open 3 Consider the long-enduring house [of worship]! 4 by the elevated canopy; 5 and the sea swarming, 6 surely thy Lord's chastisement is about to fall; 7 there is no one who could avert it, 8 On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving, 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 woe that day unto those that cry lies, 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 On the Day whereon they will be pushed into Hell-Fire with a dreadful push. 13 This is the Fire which you used to belie. 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." 16 Indeed the pious are in Gardens and peace. 17 Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. 18 "Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for your good deeds," 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families: 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' 28
