The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 and they said: "Are we to follow one single mortal, one from among ourselves? In that case, behold, we would certainly sink into error and folly! 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 Tomorrow shall they know who is the liar, the insolent one. 26 Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 “And inform them that the water is to be shared between them; only those may come whose turn it is.” 28 But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in hand, and hamstrung (her). 29 How then were My punishment and My warnings! 30 Indeed We sent upon them a single Scream – thereupon they became like the barrier builder’s residual dry trampled hay. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 32 The people of Lut rejected (his) warning. 33 Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn 34 A favor from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks. 35 He had warned them of Our assault but they disputed the warnings. 36 They demanded that he turn over his guests to them. We struck their faces, blinded them and said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 37 and early in the morning the punishment decreed overtook them -- 38 Now taste My punishment after My warnings! 39 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished. 40
