And whoever turns himself away from the remembrance of the Beneficent Allah, We appoint for him a Shaitan, so he becomes his associate. 36 whereupon, behold, these [evil impulses] bar all such from the path [of truth,] making them think that they are guided aright! 37 Until when he comes to Us, he says: O would that between me and you there were the distance of the East and the West; so evil is the associate! 38 It will be said [to such a person], "You have done wrong. Having partners in punishment will be of no avail to you today." 39 So will you make the deaf listen or show the path to the blind, and to those who are in open error? (The disbelievers whose hearts are sealed, are deaf and blind to the truth). 40 Even if We take you away, We shall take vengeance upon them, 41 or We shall show you what We have promised them; for surely We have complete power over them. 42 So hold fast to all that has been revealed to thee: for, behold, thou art on a straight way; 43 It is indeed a Reminder to you and to your nation, and without doubt you shall be questioned. 44 Ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We have ever made gods, other than the Merciful, to be worshipped. 45
