Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In a Garden on high, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
