'Ad (people) belied the Messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: fear ye not? 124 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 fear God, then, and obey me. 126 I ask no recompense of you for it. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 127 Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves, 128 and erect huge palaces as though you will live for ever, 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants! 130 "Now fear Allah, and obey me. 131 Keep your duty toward Him Who hath aided you with (the good things) that ye know, 132 Provided you with grazing livestock and children 133 and gardens, and springs -- 134 "Verily, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day." 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether you preach or be not of those who preach. 136 This is but a custom of the ancients. 137 And we are not going to be tormented. 138 So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 140

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
