The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 The reward for what they did. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 And water poured out 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 and made them virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 for those on the Right, 38
