The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
