The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
