The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 and gathered his people together 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
