The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Issuing from the pelvis between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
