It was not in falsehood that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. That is the thought of the unbelievers. But woe to the unbelievers because of the Fire! 27 shall We treat those who believe and do good works the same as those who spread corruption in the land; shall We treat the pious the same as the wicked? 28 A Book We have sent down to thee, Blessed, that men possessed of minds may ponder its signs and so remember. 29 We granted Solomon to David, a blessed servant of Ours and certainly the most repentant person. 30 Behold, there were brought before him, at eventide coursers of the highest breeding, and swift of foot; 31 Therefore Sulaiman said, “I cherish the love of these horses*, out of remembrance of my Lord”; he then ordered them to be raced until they vanished in a curtain out of sight. (To be used in holy war.) 32 "Bring them back to me." then began he to pass his hand over (their) legs and their necks. 33 And We certainly tried Solomon and placed on his throne a body; then he returned. 34 He prayed, "Lord forgive me! Grant me such power as no one after me will have -- You are the Most Generous Provider." 35 So, We subjected to him the wind, it blew gently to his order whithersoever he willed, 36 and We also subjected the devils to him -- all kinds of builders and divers; 37 And others bound together in shackles. 38 [We said], "This is Our gift, so grant or withhold without account." 39 And he had a near place in Our presence and a fair resort. 40
