The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
