Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding back-biter, 1 Who accumulated wealth and hoarded it, counting. 2 thinking his riches have made him immortal! 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 How will you comprehend what Hutama is? 5 (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze), 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 Surely it shall be closed over upon them, 8 in towering columns. 9

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
