The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
