Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
