The All High (Al-A'alaa)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Rolling (Al-Takweer) before The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who created and proportioned 2 who determined and guided, 3 Who brings out the pastures 4 And then makes it dark stubble. 5 WE SHALL teach thee, and thou wilt not forget [aught of what thou art taught,] 6 Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden; 7 We shall ease you to follow the way of Ease. 8 So render good counsel if good counsel will avail. 9 Admonished is he indeed who feareth, 10 but it will be ignored by the most unfortunate, 11 He who shall roast into the Great Fire, 12 then he shall neither die therein, nor live. 13 He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself 14 And mentions the name of his Lord and prays. 15 But you prefer the life of this world, 16 and the world to come is better, and more enduring. 17 Most surely this is in the earlier scriptures, 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
