The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing - (not even) mentioned? 1 Indeed We have created man from mixed semen; in order to test him We therefore made him hearing, knowing. 2 Surely We have shown him the way: he may be thankful or unthankful. 3 For the unbelievers, We have kept ready chains and fetters and a Blazing Fire. 4 But the righteous shall drink of a goblet mixed with camphor; 5 a source [of bliss] whereof God's servants shall drink, seeing it flow in a flow abundant. 6 they who keep their vows and fear a Day whose evil is spread; 7 And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, 8 [Saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude. 9 We are afraid of our Lord and the bitterly distressful day". 10 So God will protect them from the evil of that day, and grant them happiness and joy, 11 And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk. 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they shall behold therein neither sun nor hurting cold. 13 The shades of Paradise will bend over them, and its fruits will be brought within their easy reach; 14 and there shall be passed around them vessels of silver, and goblets of crystal, 15 crystal of silver that they have measured -- very exactly. 16 Therein they shall be served a cup flavoured with ginger, 17 From a fountain therein, named Salsabil. 18 ۞ There will circulate among them young boys made eternal. When you see them, you would think them [as beautiful as] scattered pearls. 19 Whitherto you look around, you will see an abundance of bliss and the glories of a great kingdom. 20 Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy. 21 [And they will be told:] "Verily, all this is your reward since Your endeavour [in life] has met [God's] goodly acceptance!" 22
