And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so, We have caused it to enter into the hearts of harmdoers: 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, – 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I declare unto you upon whom the satans descend! 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
