Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The dwellers of the forest also rejected the Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
