Al-Hijjr 4 of 6
Verily the God-fearing shall be amidst gardens and springs. 45 "(It will be said to them): 'Enter therein (Paradise), in peace and security.' 46 And We will root out whatever of rancor is in their breasts-- (they shall be) as brethren, on raised couches, face to face. 47 Toil shall not afflict them in it, nor shall they be ever ejected from it. 48 ۞ Declare (O Muhammad SAW) unto My slaves, that truly, I am the Oft-Forgiving, the Most-Merciful. 49 And verily My torment! that is the torment afflictive 50 Tell them about the guests of Abraham. 51 When they entered upon him, they said, Peace. He said: Surely we are afraid of you. 52 They said, 'Be not afraid; behold, we give thee good tidings of a cunning boy.' 53 He said: Bring ye me good tidings (of a son) when old age hath overtaken me? Of what then can ye bring good tidings? 54 They (the angels) said: "We give you glad tidings in truth. So be not of the despairing ones." 55 He said: And who despaireth of the mercy of his Lord save those who are astray? 56 He said: And afterward what is your business, O ye messengers (of Allah)? 57 They said: Surely we are sent towards a guilty people, 58 barring Lot's household, all of whom, behold, we shall save 59 except his wife. We have decreed that she will be among those who remain behind [and will be lost]. 60

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
