Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
