I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 By the receding night 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 A warning unto humankind 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 except those of the right hand 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
