The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 The rising dawn, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
