And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 And verily it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a Sign to them - (to wit, the Makkans) - that the learned men of the Children of Israel know that? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 who sees you when you stand 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
God the Almighty always says the truth.
