The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
