The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Cloaked one, 1 Arise and warn 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 And your garments do purify, 4 stay away from sins 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 That shall be - that Day - a day hard. 9 For the infidels, not easy. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 And sons always present by his side, 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 May he be accursed, how he planned! 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 and then he looks [around for new arguments,] 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 this is nothing but the word of a mere mortal!” 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 We have not appointed any one but angels as keepers of Hell, and their number that We have fixed is to make it a means of contention for disbelievers, so that those who were given the Book may be certain, and the faith of the believers may have greater increase, and the people of the Book and believers may not be deceived, and the sceptics and infidels may say: "What does God mean by this parable?" That is how God leads whosoever He will astray, and guides whosoever He will. None knows the armies of your Lord save Him self. This is no more than reminder for mankind. 31
