The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
