The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
